Andrew has a broad inquiry, court and advisory practice, which spans all areas of his expertise and includes experience at every level of court and tribunal.
Having qualified as a barrister and solicitor in Australia in 1997, Andrew returned to the Bar in 2010. He has worked in various legal roles in both the private and public sector in Australia, the United States and the UK. Immediately prior to returning to the bar, Andrew worked as a senior solicitor in central government undertaking public law litigation.
Andrew has a wide client base, which includes major developers and landowners, central government, NHS trusts and CCGs, local authorities, NGOs, and individuals. He is consistently ranked as one of the top junior planning barristers in the country.
Guy is a specialist planning barrister with particular expertise in planning and compulsory purchase inquiries and legal challenges, and compensation claims.
Guy appears very regularly at planning inquiries in relation to all kinds of development. He acts for developers, local authorities, public bodies and interest groups and has a wide experience of appeals, called-in applications, enforcement matters and compulsory purchase inquiries.
Stuart leads the planning and highways team and is a well-respected solicitor recognised as an expert in the planning and highways area of law. He supports many local authority planning committees as the committee solicitor providing trusted and considered advice to officers and members on complicated legal and member interest issues.
Max is a legal director in the projects department. He provides legal advice and assistance on all aspects of planning and highways law including local planning authority decision-making, the local plan process (including neighbourhood planning), section 106 agreements, section 38 and 278 agreements, Community Infrastructure Levy, planning enforcement, certificates of lawfulness, permitted development rights, and judicial and statutory review.
Rebecca is a specialist planning lawyer who provides advice on all areas of planning, highways and compulsory purchase. She has acted for a diverse portfolio of clients including developers, registered providers, universities, local authorities, institutional investors and landowners to help projects move forward with confidence through an often complex planning system.
Rebecca advises on a wide spectrum of complex planning matters across both the private and public sectors from site acquisition through to determination, delivery and challenge. Her experience includes residential and mixed-use developments, commercial schemes and infrastructure projects. She regularly negotiates Section 106 agreements and other infrastructure and planning agreements as well as advising on certificates of lawfulness, community infrastructure levy appeals, enforcement issues, compulsary purchase and judicial review. Rebecca has also been involved in advising landowners affected by HS2 in relation to their compensation claims.
Ben specialises in public, planning and environmental law for public bodies, corporate sector bodies and affordable housing providers. He is recognised in both the Legal 500 and Chambers as an expert in planning and environmental law. Key areas of work include large infrastructure projects, section 106 agreements and marine matters.
Rory specialises in all aspects of planning, highways and compulsory purchase law. Before joining Trowers & Hamlins, Rory worked across both the private and public sectors, most recently as the Principal Planning & Corporate Lawyer for the London Borough of Hillingdon.
