Welcome to LLG - Lawyers in Local Government - a professional membership community of 4,500 lawyers and governance officers from local authorities across England and Wales. LLG represents the voice of the membership in national debate, shaping policy and practice for the good of the sector as a whole, and is instrumental in driving positive change through a series of campaigns and projects.
With the growth and development of our members as a core objective, LLG offers a wide range of training and development opportunities. These lift and maintain the skills and knowledge required to be a good lawyer, governance officer or leader. We strive for diversity, equality and inclusivity at all levels and in everything that we do.
This month, we invite you to take a lazy train ride to Durham, an 11th Century UNESCO World Heritage site with breathtaking scenery, a city of pilgrimage and magic (Durham Cathedral provided many of the iconic scenes from Hogwarts in Harry Potter), to meet colleagues at our Spring Conference on May 27th, enjoy thought provoking debate, contribute to lively discussion, expand your circle, and leave a better lawyer. The last two years have changed our habits but remember the buzz you used to feel at our Weekend School? We work so hard day in, day out - this is time and space to invest in ourselves.
Online attendance is also available.
ADSO & LLG have just published a petition calling on the UK Government and Parliament to allow Councils in England to have the choice to meet remotely and wanted to see if you could help by adding your name.
Our goal was to reach 100 signatures and we need more support. We are currently at 10,000. Can you make it 10,500. You can read more and sign the petition here
