Jody is a Regeneration Lawyer responsible for handling planning and contracts for the Shared Legal Services Team of Guildford and Waverley Borough Councils. She advises on a broad range of planning matters, including planning agreement, enforceme nt, Planning Inspectorate appeals and High Court legal challenges, governance matters, and issues arising from local government reorganisation.
Jody brings to the Planning National Lead role a varied legal background spanning public authority and private practice experience in the United Kingdom and in the United States where she is qualified in California and Illinois.
At Guildford and Waverley, Jody leads on a vast array of matters, including advising senior officers and planning committee members, preparing complex planning agreements and advice, and tracking and preparing for changes in planning regulations.
Alongside her legal practice, Jody has a strong interest in professional engagement, knowledge sharing, and mentoring. As Planning National Lead, Jody is committed to supporting members through collaboration, training, and the exchange of best practice advice, as well as to promoting the role of local government lawyers in delivering effective and sustainable planning outcomes.
