Welcome to the National Partnership and Procurement Group of LLG
The areas of law covered by our group include:
• procurement law
• subsidy control/State aid and funding
• general commercial and contract law
• partnerships (including collaborations, joint ventures and shared services)
We hope to develop the page as a useful source of information, documents and news for local authority lawyers. Many of our members will also advise Council owned companies, combined authorities, maintained schools and academies, so we hope the range of content will reflect that mix.
If you have any queries or suggestions do get in touch. For example, we have a wide range of corporate partners who are supportive of providing free training webinars. Otherwise, we hope you find the page useful!
Thank you
Kieran and Alice

Procurement Lawyers' Association (PLA)
LLG members who advise on procurement law are also very welcome to join the PLA. The PLA are a UK-wide body representing all those involved in public procurement law, whether in private practice or in-house. The association hosts events and working groups on particular areas of procurement law. A number of LLG members are part of the PLA public sector working group, and our National Lead Kieran McGaughey sits on the PLA’s executive committee.
Membership costs only £12.50 per year for local government lawyers, and is free for junior lawyers (up to 3 years PQE). Please see the website below for further info about the PLA, and how you can join:
