About the Trust

The Local Government Legal Society Trust Ltd, provides sponsorship and grants towards the fees of solicitors and trainees undertaking training courses to enhance their skills and broaden their experiences relevant to an applicant’s local government work. 

Applying for training funding:  Various LLG training courses and conferences including the annual LLG Spring Conference may be eligible for funding.  For all enquires email nwalkerlgls@gmail.com  All applications for funding will need to be supported by downloading and completing the Funding Application Form and emailing to nwalkerlgls@gmail.com

 

Directors and Trustees

The Trust Board is made up of solicitors who currently work in local government or have recently retired having substantial experience of working in local government.

                                                                                  Sarah Harriott
Sarah has worked as a Lawyer in Local Government for over 10 years. Most of her time has been spent at Coventry City Council in Information Management and Corporate Governance. In 2023 she joined West Northamptonshire Council where she now specialises in Contract and Procurement Law.
 
Sarah is National Lead for Information Management and Board Representative for National Leads with Lawyers in Local Government.  
 
Sarah was awarded the Birmingham Black Lawyers Lawyer of the Year Award and completed the Local Government Diploma in 2023.
 
Sarah is passionate about encouraging Lawyers at all stages of their careers to consider Local Government Law, and has built a presence on Social Media to promote the work of Local Government Lawyers. She has featured in the top 10 of the Legal LinkedInfluencers In-House Lawyers Report for the first and second quarters in 2025.
