Many local authorities collaborate with one another in the procurement sphere. The National Procurement Policy Statement encourages authorities to โconsider opportunities for working with each other to deliver best value for moneyโ. Such collaboration can โmake best use of commercial and procurement skills; benefit from economies of scale; achieve efficiencies in the use of resources and realise savings and wider community benefits.โ
One option for such collaboration is joint procurement, as provided for in Regulation 38 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. In this session, we will look at some of the contractual, procurement and practical issues to consider when you are exploring such joint procurements with other authorities. Following the presentation there will be the opportunity to ask questions and share your views/experiences of this area.
