LLG are delighted to announce that we will be joined by Cameron Black, from the Local Government & Social Care Ombudsman for a webinar on the Complaint Handling Code.
This informative session will be on Wednesday 4th September, from 12-1pm and covers the development of the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman’s Complaint Handling Code and expectations in relation to scrutiny and oversight of complaint functions in local councils.
The webinar will explore:
Cameron Black is the External Training & Relationship Lead at the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman. He led development of the Ombudsman’s Complaint Handling Code and currently oversees 19 pilots of the Code in councils across England.
Cameron manages the relationship between the Ombudsman and the 317 local authorities in England. Additionally, he is responsible for the delivery of the Ombudsman’s complaint handling training for both local authorities and social care providers, to support the improvement of complaint handling at local level.
Prior to his current role, Cameron was an Investigator for the Ombudsman which equipped him with invaluable insights into best practices. He has authored publications, encompassing topics such as accessibility for individuals with disabilities, community engagement in the local planning process, and the impact of bed and breakfast accommodation on homeless families.
