LLG's Southern Regional Director, Anita Bradley is hosting another one day conference for all Southern members to network, inspire, and discuss key topics.

In contrast to last September's event in Oxfordshire, this event will be held in Exeter and is very kindly being hosted at Browne Jacobson's Exeter Office. As before, this programme of inspiring sessions with LLG Corporate Partner firms will cover updates and insights regarding Local Government Reorganisation, Information Governance, Monitoring Officers and Governance, and Local Government Case Law updates plus more.

The programme will include updates and insights into Local Government Reorganisation, The Renters' Rights Act, Information Data Act, Case Law Updates and more. 

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Peter Ware, Partner - Browne Jacobson

Recognised by Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 as a leading expert in public law and procurement, Peter is the head of Browne Jacobson’s Government practice. Specialising in contentious and non-contentious procurement matters, Peter supports public and private sector clients to get the very best out of their regulated procurement activity.  

Peter’s extensive experience also means that he can advise clients on a variety of commercial matters for both government and supplier-to-government clients in particular public to public and public to private joint ventures. 

Prior to joining Browne Jacobson, Peter was a special projects adviser for Nottinghamshire County Council – meaning he really understands the pressures faced by in-house counsel when leading major projects.

Peter is dedicated to helping clients achieve their Net Zero aims. Peter was instrumental in supporting the Midlands Engine in developing their 10-point plan for Green Growth. Peter continues to champion their work by working with businesses, public bodies, academia and the third sector to achieve genuine change through innovation and growth.

Hannah Payne, Senior Associate - Browne Jacobson

Hannah is an associate within the public, planning and environmental team at Browne Jacobson. She specialises in public law matters and is experienced working with central and local government, devolved administrations and other public bodies. She regularly advises on lawful decision-making, performance of public functions and vires. 

Having trained with Browne Jacobson LLP, Hannah has developed a wide-ranging practice, advising in litigious, advisory and transactional contexts. Hannah has particular experience in handling complex litigation including judicial review, public inquiries, statutory appeals and civil litigation. 

Gavinder Ryait, Partner - Capsticks

Gavinder is a partner and head of the London Housing Management Team.  As a leading social housing lawyer with over 20 years’ experience, Gavinder has a natural ability to simplify legal complexities, getting to the crux of problems while maintaining excellent client relationships and offering practical, unequivocal advice.

Gavinder is an acknowledged leader in her field and highly admired by peers and leading legal directories.    

Gavinder covers all aspects of housing management litigation, particularly injunctions, possession claims, closure orders and high profile complex ASB matters.  Gavinder acts for numerous Local Authorities and Housing Associations and has been involved in leading Court of Appeal decisions, including West Kent Housing Association v. Jack Haycraft [2012] EWCA Civ 276 and Paragon Asra Housing Limited v. James Neville [2018] EWCA Civ 1712

Gavinder also provides specialist in-house training for clients, hosts regular legal surgeries, and organises seminars on current issues.
