In the next meeting of the LLG procurement lawyers' group, we will be looking at the period between standstill letters being issued and contracts being signed.  Our Procurement National Lead Kieran McGaughey is delighted to be joined by guest speakers from our new corporate partners Capsticks LLP for this session: Mary Mundy, Partner who leads on non-contentious procurement and Dylan Young, Partner who leads on procurement litigation.

Mary and Dylan will be looking at how to best manage some of the tricky issues which can arise for councils at this important stage of the procurement process, including:

  • Unhappy bidders and requests for further information and to extend the standstill
  • Issues arising regarding the content of standstill letters
  • When to consider rewinding the procurement or abandonment and the risks involved
  • Winning bidders attempting to negotiate contract terms

As always, there will be the opportunity to ask questions of the speakers and share your insights with your local authority peers. With local authorities keen to award contracts without delay, and avoid costly legal challenges, this is a session for their in-house advisors which is not to be missed!

Mary Mundy, Partner

Mary leads the Capsticks non contentious procurement team and has over 17 years’ experience advising on Public Procurement and has advised on a number of reported cases. She has experience of working in-house and has previously been Legal Counsel at DHL, advising NHS Supply Chain on setting up Framework Agreements for health supplies. Mary has also had in-house experience at the Regional Development Agency, Yorkshire Forward.

Mary advises on all procurement procedure types and takes pride in giving pragmatic, commercial advice, enabling clients to properly weigh up risks.
