2025 LLG Awards: One week to go Until Applications Close on 24 March 2025

With just one week to go on the LLG Awards application deadline for 2025, this is your reminder to show your team or colleagues the recognition that they deserve!

The LLG Awards is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the nominees and honour them for their determination, innovation and expertise.

Here’s a reminder of our categories this year:

Junior Lawyer of the Year

This seeks to recognise a person who has made an exceptional contribution to their legal team as well as their commitment to public service and public service objectives.

*Nominees must fit one of these to qualify: a trainee, apprentice or paralegal pre-qualified, or post-qualification lawyers who have been practising for less than five years.*

Legal Team of the Year

This award is for a legal team that has exhibited the highest levels of creativity, innovation, knowledge, client sensitivity and responsiveness, and a substantial contribution to corporate, diversity, and community objectives.

Legal Professional of the Year

Specifically designed to recognise outstanding achievements within local government, spanning across various legal practice fields and encompassing contributions related to the advancement of legal services delivery and/or practice.

Excellence in Training Award

The purpose of this award is to champion legal professionals who have displayed a profound commitment to fostering professional growth, knowledge sharing, and the advancement of legal careers within the local government sphere.

Significant Contribution to Local Government

This award celebrates those who have gone above and beyond their roles, driving meaningful change and delivering tangible benefits to their organisation and the communities they serve.

Suki Binjal Rising Star Award

New for 2025, in honour of Suki Binjal who was a previous president of LLG, this award is catered for mid-career lawyers who exemplify dedication, leadership, and passion – all traits that defined Suki’s career in local government law, celebrating the legacy that she left.

 

Use this last week to dedicate some time to your application – increase the chance for your local authority to win, whether that be yourself, a colleague or your team as a whole – show them the appreciation that their tenacious efforts deserve.
