Applications are invited for the Position of Partnerships and Procurement National Lead

LLG are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated partnerships and procurement lawyer to become the National Lead for LLG. This is an exciting opportunity which will place you at the heart of LLG. Want to expand your skill set? Develop your network and share learning? then this is the role for you. 

Role Profile

  1. To be the public face of LLG in this legal area. 
  2. To work alongside the other national leads contributing towards the work of LLG.
  3. To attend meetings and encouraging membership engagement.
  4. To contribute towards the shaping of training end events/ 
  5. To engage and work with Corporate Partners and Stakeholders.
  6. To participate where necessary in round-tables and working groups.

To apply, please submit your CV, along with no more than two sides of A4 comprising a written application demonstrating (with examples) where possible, the following:

  • Expertise in the law covered by the area.
  • What you would do to improve representation of the views of local government lawyers in the area of law covered by the area.
  • What you would want to achieve for LLG/or see LLG achieve in the area of law covered by your area.
  • How you would work to support and develop local and regional leads.
  • Capacity to represent LLG effectively and with impact at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to speak in public and to the sector press.
  • Personal achievement.

Criteria

  • 1.Must be a full member of Lawyers in Local Government
  • 2.Must be currently actively working within Local Government
  • 3.Must have some understanding of the work of LLG and its aims and objectives
  • 4.Should have some understanding of the current challenges facing local government lawyers
  • 5.Strong interpersonal skills and leadership qualities
  • 6. Confident public speaker

The position is a voluntary, non-paid role but expenses will be covered in line with the expenses policy. There is also the potential to attend LLG conferences and other events.
