Well, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the LLG Inspire Programme 2025–26, a transformative journey designed for existing and aspiring Monitoring Officers, lawyers, and democratic services professionals who are ready to take the next step in their leadership careers.
Running from October 2025 to June 2026, Inspire is more than a training programme—it is a commitment to ethical leadership and professional growth, embracing the power of the LLG community to provide peer support, skills, and experience from the heart of local government.

In local government, the path to senior leadership is often steep and complex. While technical expertise and hard work can take you far, stepping into a statutory role like that of Monitoring Officer requires a different mindset—one rooted in strategic thinking, ethical decision-making, and the ability to lead with integrity.
The Inspire Programme offers structured development across six modules, covering everything from governance fundamentals and political awareness to building strong teams and navigating ethical dilemmas. Thanks to funding from the LGA Sector-led Improvement Support Grant and the UK Government, bursaries are available to ensure that financial constraints do not stand in the way of participation.
