Lawyer's in Local Government have been approached by Centre for Governance and Scrutiny (CfGS) who are undertaking research into the Governance Models within Local Authorities.

CfGS are looking for examples of district councils with hybrid governance models, if this is you, please do let them know!

CfGS are hoping to put together some case studies on councils which have changed governance systems (and back again). Again, if this is you, please get in touch!

If either (or both) apply to you, please email megan.ingle@cfgs.org.uk.

Additionally, CfGS are developing an evidence base that includes insight on governance models in place in each authority (leader and Cabinet, elected leader, executive Mayor, Committee system). This will include, where readily available, history of recent changes in the model and planned changes in progress.

It would be very helpful if you could send over any governance changes that have taken place in your council/are due to take place so that CfGS can add them to the document. Please email info@cfgs.org.uk with any changes you have.
