Former LLG President, Phillip Horsfield is standing for election to the Law Society Council to represent the Yorkshire & Humberside Constituency.

Elections will be open on or around 11th August 2022 via email and will close on 8th September 2022 at 4pm.

There are a number of elections being contested including: -

  • Ethnic Minorities
  • Family
  • In-house – Defence
  • Legal Aid
  • Major Corporate
  • North West London
  • Small Firms
  • Solicitors with Disabilities
  • South Wales
  • Women Lawyers
  • Yorkshire & Humberside

Whilst LLG are delighted to note that there are a number of local government lawyers on a variety of committees within the Law Society, we were of course disappointed to lose a council seat in the Law Society review and now hold just one local government lawyer representative seat. That seat is currently held by Suki Binjal, a former President and Board Director of LLG.

LLG consider it to be important that the local government legal voice continues to be represented at the Law Society and urges members to stand for positions when they arise.
