LLG Awards Entry Extended to 18th April.

This year there are 5 categories open for nominations, (sponsored by our corporate partners), as follows:

  1. LLG Legal Project Team/Individual of the Year
  2. LLG Junior Lawyer of the Year
  3. LLG Lawyer of the Year
  4. LLG Legal Team of the Year
  5. LLG Significant Contribution to Local Government Law and Practice

Nominations are by way of single submission to membership@llg.org.uk

Categories

 

LLG Legal Project Team/Individual of the Year 2022

This Award recognises the outstanding achievement by a Local Authority lawyer/team in legal work relating to delivery of a major project and/or procurement. 

 

The entry should include: 

  • Evidence of contributing to developing and transforming communities through legal contributions to major projects or commercial enterprise. 
  • An overview of the initiative(s) in question including formative stages, planning, procurement, delivery and outcomes. 
  • The beneficial impact of such work upon the community and/or workings (including finance) of the Authority. 
  • Supporting internal and external testimonials to the expertise deployed and/or value added by the work undertaken.

 

 

LLG Junior Lawyer of the Year 2022

This Award recognises a lawyer who is a trainee/apprentice or is less than five years qualified in their professional legal status who has made an exceptional contribution to their legal team, demonstrating a dynamic and innovative approach to achieving the goals of their service and their Authority. 

 

The entry should include:

  • Details of the individual’s key achievements.
  • Evidence of commitment to public service and public service objectives.
  • Evidence of the individual’s ability to contribute to the desired outcomes for their service and clients as a junior member of the team.
  • Supporting internal and external testimonials to the expertise deployed and/or value added by the work undertaken.

 

LLG Lawyer of the Year 2022

This Award recognises outstanding achievement by a Local Government legal professional in any field of legal practice, and/or in relation to the development of legal services delivery or practice. 

 

The entry should include an outline of key activity of the individual including:

  • Details of the individual’s key achievements including case studies and/or projects which evidence the qualities noted above where relevant.
  • The beneficial impact of the individual’s activity upon the community and/or the objectives and/or workings of their Authority. 
  • Supporting internal and external testimonials to the expertise deployed and/or value added by the work undertaken.

 

LLG Legal Team of the Year 2022

This Award recognises a legal team who can demonstrate the highest levels of creativity, innovation, knowledge, client sensitivity/responsiveness and contribution to corporate, diversity and community objectives. 

 

The entry should include:

  • Relevant details of key members of the team and their roles.
  • Case studies and/or projects which evidence the qualities noted above.
  • Evidence of excellence in service delivery, impact upon the community and/or contribution to the workings of the Authority. 
  • Supporting internal and external testimonials to the expertise deployed and/or value added by the work undertaken.

 

 

LLG Significant Contribution to Local Government Law & Practice 2022

This Award recognises an individual who has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to the Local Government Legal Profession whilst upholding standards of Public Service. It acknowledges their dedication to the objectives of LLG and its predecessors together with outstanding achievement in the field of Local Government Law, Practice and/or Governance.

 

The nomination should include: 

  • Details of local authority career.
  • Details of any involvement with local government representational groups or other groups which impact upon local government law and/or local or national initiatives.  
  • Supporting testimonials.

Judging panels are comprised from LLG Corporate Partners and LLG Board Directors/Members/Officers

A HYBRID AWARDS CEREMONY WILL BE HELD AT THE LLG SPRING CONFERENECE ON 27TH MAY 2022 WHEN WINNERS AND PLACEMENTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED.

The virtual ceremony is open to all LLG members, nominated finalists and their confirmed friends and family. Attendance at the ceremony virtually is limited to the first 500 registrations and LLG reserve the right to limit guests to ensure attendance by LLG members and nominated finalists. The ceremony in person is open to all LLG members and nominated finalists subject to availability on a first come, first served basis.

Those nominating will be deemed to have accepted these rules and procedures and to have agreed to be bound by them when entering a nomination. Judges' decisions are final, and awards will be made at their discretion. The content of any entry may be used for publicity purposes unless the entrant withholds their consent to this in writing.  The content provided must not be confidential. To help us manage and maintain the reputation of the LLG Awards you must inform us about any negative media stories  relating to the nominated person/team which have occurred during the 12 months preceding the Awards ceremony. Failure to disclose may result in your entry being invalidated.

Nominations are restricted to individuals or teams who work in a local authority as so defined by LLG’s companies articles of association. This includes, fire and police authorities.
