Seasons greetings from LLG Legal Training! As the year draws to a close and we begin to wind down for the end of the year, December often feels like a natural point to pause and look back on the year we have had. It’s a month that encourages reflection on what’s been achieved and what lies ahead. For many professionals, this is the perfect opportunity to invest in growth – whether that means refreshing knowledge, learning new skills, or preparing for the challenges of the coming year. Taking time now to focus on development can help you start the new year with confidence and clarity. December with LLG Legal Training’s courses provide the opportunity to do just that.

We begin the December training on the 9th with the second running of our brand-new for 2025 course: Online - The Establishment and Operation of Local Authority Companies – Key Issues and Considerations for Local Government Lawyers, allowing local government lawyers a platform to explore the latest legal, governance, and operational challenges in setting up and managing local authority companies.

Followed swiftly, on the 10th, by another course that is brand-new for 2025: NEW - Online - All change! The twin challenges of devolution and local government reorganisation – what this means for Monitoring Officers and their teams, as the landscape of local government continues to evolve, this course will provide delegates with understanding into the legal, structural, and governance challenges that arise from these changes.

Are you new to planning law and feel like you need a whistle-stop tour of the basics? Or maybe even a planning law refresher course? Well look no further than Online - Planning Basic Survival Guide on the 15th, designed to equip lawyers and officers new to planning law with a basic level of knowledge in a range of areas, with a particular focus on issues relevant to the local authority context.

We end the month of December on the 16th with Online - Access in Housing Cases, which is designed to examine the legal framework and contractual rights to access housing by local authorities.

Then, we say goodbye to 2025 and all enjoy our much-needed break from the 24th of December. But do not fear, LLG training courses will be back in January to kick-start your new year development goals!
