Given the pace of change and growth within LLG ,the Board determined to review the Articles in full due to the many and varied changes over the years which had created anomulous clauses, definitions and outdated procedural elements further effected by the change of Board make-up and the creation of AMO.
The Board understood that such a whole scale revision would require a full year of engagement and due process. To that end, work commenced following the AGM in 2025. LLG convened a working group from its Board Members and one previous Past President to assist with the changes to the company Articles, and thanks go to them for their time and stewardship in this matter.
The working group met on four occasions to discuss the review and the Board had reports on the proposals at three meetings. The membership had the opportunity to engage via a online survey which received responses. This was followed by a deeper consultation paper to elicit views and then a scheduled webinar discussion with the comany secretary to ask questions. To ensure further due dilligence, legal advice was procured to examine the legal aspects of the company's articles once all proposals had been finalised and further amendment was made to take into account said advice and industry good practice.
The Local Government Membership will be asked to adopt the revised Articles at the company AGM on 29th April 2026 at 12.00pm. You can register to attend via the events page here
