This half day course is aimed at local authority officers who are involved in preparing and drafting traffic regulation orders. The course will provide attendees with a solid understanding of permanent, experimental and temporary traffic regulation orders. This will include the legislative framework, drafting and the statutory procedure to make traffic regulation orders. Attendees will look at the role of the traffic authority to help achieve traffic management objectives through restricting, regulating or prohibiting vehicular traffic or pedestrians.

Umi is an experienced solicitor who has worked within local government for over 18 years and has also over 3 years’ experience within the private sector. Whilst in local government, her practice included regularly drafting planning and highway agreements, drafting traffic regulation orders, advising at planning and rights of way committees and representing local authorities at public local inquiries.
Whilst employed as an Associate Solicitor in the planning and infrastructure team at Womble Bond Dickinson she undertook work for local authorities, central government bodies and developers.
