Two experts in the field, James Berry KC of Serjeants Inn and John Riddell, Partner Weightmans LLP, will guide you through this difficult area of law and procedure. The session will include guidance on the procedure under the Elected Local Policing Bodies (Complaints and Misconduct) Regulations 2012, delegation schemes, how to investigate matters for informal resolution, reports and procedure.

James Berry KC

James Berry KC has specialised in police conduct law for many years as a member of specialist police Chambers, Serjeants Inn. He was named Professional Discipline Junior of the Year in 2020. James has advised on many occasions on Police and Crime Panel issues involving Police and Crime Commissioners and Mayors. 

John Riddell

John Riddell heads the Police Conduct team at Weightmans LLP. It is the largest police conduct team in private practice. John has advised police clients for over thirty years on all issues of law and governance. He has advised monitoring officers and Police and Crime Panels on many occasions.
