Job Description:
Are you an able, motivated qualified solicitor or Legal Executive who is interested in commercial work? Come and join our award-winning Legal Service team by the sea!
You will provide legal, solution-focused advice and guidance to a variety of clients on commercial contracts and you will provide legal advice at all stages of the procurement process. You will work in the supportive Contracts and Procurement Team managing your own varied case load of contracts and procurement work and will see the results of the work you do come to life around the city - examples of our work include: drafting construction contracts for new social housing developments, working on projects to maintain and restore the City’s Regency townscape, drafting IT&D contracts to improve the efficiency of Council services and reviewing a contract to enable the City to host a European sports tournament.
Knowledge of current procurement law and familiarity with the new Procurement Act 2023 is required. Experience of contracts and procurement law in a local government environment is desirable. Excellent client care, communication skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to develop in the role are essential.
