Job Description:
Are you an experienced litigation lawyer looking for a new challenge? Could you lead our Litigation team and make a significant impact in York.
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated solicitor, barrister or a suitably qualified fellow of the institute of legal executives (one who has specific authorisation to undertake reserved legal activity), to join our friendly and experienced litigation team.
You will be the senior practitioner in the litigation team helping to ensure effective and efficient conduct of civil and criminal proceedings in tribunals and the civil and criminal courts. Supported by our Court Business Partner, you will supervise staff within the litigation team and will have some formal line management responsibility although no previous management experience is necessary.
You would be expected to have the experience and knowledge to manage a complex case load of housing related matters including possession proceedings, injunctions, debt recovery, anti-social behaviour and disrepair.
You may also be required on occasion to advise on other matters within the wider litigation team including criminal litigation.
Our team is creative and innovative and enjoys the opportunity to work on a broad range of public law issues which directly impact the community we serve. If you are motivated to use your legal skills in this dynamic sector we would love to hear from you.
