Royal Borough of Greenwich:  Prosecutions Lawyer – 12 months fixed term

The job

Greenwich Legal Services is committed to being a high performing in-house legal service which plays an essential part in the achievement of the Royal Borough’s priorities and objectives for the benefit of our community. 

We are seeking a Lawyer (Prosecutions) to join our busy team dealing with a varied caseload and providing legal advice, support and representation in relation to criminal regulatory proceedings including trading standards, environmental offences, licensing, fraud and Housing Act 2004 prosecutions and undertake advocacy in the magistrates’ court and other tribunals as required. The post holder will also be providing licensing Act 2003 advice to client departments and Members, attend licensing committees and hearings and will have conduct of Housing Act appeals to the First-tier Tribunal. The role will also involve providing tailored training to officers in diverse service areas.   

We are looking to recruit a keen, talented and committed individual with a proactive approach to this role.   The successful candidate must be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister,  qualified  Legal Executive or equivalent and able to demonstrate experience of all aspects of the law and procedure relating to regulatory criminal litigation.
