Royal Borough of Greenwich: Senior Lawyer – Adults or Education (x2)

12 months fixed term

Greenwich Legal Services is committed to being a high performing in-house legal service which plays an essential part in the achievement of the Royal Borough’s priorities and objectives for the benefit of our community. 

You will join us at an exciting time as the Royal Borough continues with its on-going ambitious regeneration programme.

We are seeking  Senior Lawyers (Adults & Education) to join our busy team dealing with a varied caseload and providing legal advice, support and representation to the council’s Directorates of Children’s and Health & Adults.  We are looking to recruit keen, talented and committed individuals to this role.

The role will include running an extensive caseload of complex legal work in the area of Adults and/or Education , working as a Senior member of the team providing high level services to elected members, senior managers, staff and external clients.

The successful candidate must be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive or equivalent and able to demonstrate experience of all aspects of the law relating to Safeguarding Adults including but not limited to the Care Act 2014 and Mental Health Act 1983  and/or all aspects of Education law including SEN, Pre action matters, Judicial Reviews, and general enquiries from schools within the Royal Borough.
