Job Title: Senior Paralegal

Salary: £35,745 to £36,648

Hours: 36.25 hours per week

Contract: Fixed term contract (12 months)

We are looking for an enthusiastic Legal Officer to join our Legal team who is committed to the development of a positive, professional, and forward-looking service.

This opportunity has arisen because the current post holder is about to go on maternity leave.

You should be enthusiastic and confident with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

What you’ll be getting up to

  • This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer to develop and broaden their professional skills. You would be working across two local authorities and at times would need to travel between them.
  • You will have the opportunity to work in a number of diverse areas relevant to a district council including prosecutions, planning, contracts and litigation.
  • You'll manage casework for your client departments, with the support of the Legal Services Team Leader

Who we’re looking for

  • You will have experience of working within a legal department
  • You will be educated to degree level.
  • Local government experience is preferred but not essential, but you should have a flexible approach and be able to deliver in a busy and challenging environment.
