Nominations for LLG Awards 2023 Extended for Junior Lawyers and Local Councils to 9th May 2023

LLG are extending the deadline for Junior Lawyers to nominate for the LLG Junior Lawyer of the Year 2023 to the 9th May 2023

Category information as follows:-

LLG Junior Lawyer of the Year 2023

This Award recognises outstanding achievement and innovation by a local government lawyer (trainee or apprentice) with less that 5 years pqe.

The entry should include:

  • Details of the individual’s key achievements.
  • Evidence of commitment to public service and public service objectives.
  • Evidence of the individual’s ability to contribute to the desired outcomes for their service and clients as a junior member of the team.
  • Supporting internal and external testimonials to the expertise deployed and/or value added by the work undertaken.

LLG Local Council Community Impact

This Award recognises the significant importance of the legal officers of 2 tier District or Borough Councils on their local community.

The entry should include:

  • Relevant details of key members of the individual’s/ team and their roles.
  • Case studies and/or projects which evidence the qualities of client service and creativity.
  • Evidence of excellence in service delivery, impact upon the community and/or contribution to the workings of the Authority. 
  • Supporting internal and external testimonials to the expertise deployed and/or value added by the work undertaken.

 

Nominees are asked to supply a paragraph about themselves, their local government journey and work together with a photograph by 10th May 2023 to membership@llg.org.uk

Nominations are open to all Local Government Legal Departments and Staff employed within them. 

Judging panels are comprised from LLG Corporate Partners and LLG Board Directors/Members/Officers

A HYBRID AWARDS CEREMONY WILL BE HELD AT THE LLG SPRING CONFERENCE ON 9TH JUNE 2023 IN BIRMINGHAM WHEN WINNERS AND PLACEMENTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED.

The virtual ceremony is open to all LLG members, nominated finalists and their confirmed friends and family. Attendance at the ceremony virtually is limited to the first 500 registrations and LLG reserve the right to limit guests to ensure attendance by LLG members and nominated finalists. The ceremony in person is open to all LLG members and nominated finalists subject to availability on a first come, first served basis on a paid for basis to include dinner.

 

Judges' decisions are final, and awards will be made at their discretion. The content of any entry may be used for publicity purposes unless the entrant withholds their consent to this in writing.  The content provided must not be confidential.

To help us manage and maintain the reputation of the LLG Awards you must inform us about any negative media stories relating to the nominated person/team which have occurred during the 12 months preceding the Awards ceremony. Failure to disclose may result in your entry being invalidated.

Those nominating will be deemed to have accepted these rules and procedures and to have agreed to be bound by them when entering a nomination.

Nominations are restricted to individuals or teams who work in a local authority as so defined by LLG’s company’s articles of association. This includes fire and police authorities.
